CanItBuy Agent Ready for PrestaShop

A free module that shows which AI agents visit your store, how far shopping agents get in the cart and checkout, and what in your product data stops them from buying. Every week it checks your store and e-mails you when something breaks.

Overview in Modules > CanItBuy Agent Ready. Data from a test store.

What it does

  • AI agent visits. Counts agents and crawlers that identify themselves: ChatGPT agent (signed requests), ChatGPT-User, OAI-SearchBot, Claude, Perplexity and more, per day and store area. You see who reads product pages and who reaches the cart and checkout.
  • Signed agents, confirmed. ChatGPT agent and other agents sign their requests with a cryptographic key (Web Bot Auth). With the check on, the module confirms the signature and shows confirmed visits apart from visitors that only use an agent's name.
  • Agent journeys. Follows declared shopping agents from the cart to the order: how far each one got, what was in its cart and the last message your store showed it, such as a missing combination or an out-of-stock error.
  • Sales from AI. Counts orders whose buyer came from an AI assistant (chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai, claude.ai, gemini.google.com and others) in the 30 days before ordering. It reads PrestaShop's own visitor statistics, so it records nothing new about your customers. It also marks orders placed by an agent itself.
  • Catalog check. Checks every active product and combination: can it be ordered, price, combinations, stock, EAN with check digit, cover image, description, reference, brand and category. Each issue says what it costs you and how to fix it. CSV export for Excel.
  • Store check. Shows which AI bots your robots.txt lets in, and compares the product data on your product pages (JSON-LD) with the catalog: price, stock and EAN. It also catches product data that is not valid JSON, which agents skip.
  • Weekly check with e-mail alerts. Once a week the module checks the whole catalog, robots.txt and product pages, compares the result with the week before and e-mails you when something got worse: products that can no longer be bought, combinations gone, robots.txt newly blocking AI assistants, product pages with missing data.
  • Ready files for agents, off by default. /llms.txt, a short guide to your store for AI assistants, and valid product data on product pages when your theme has none or has it broken.
  • Compared with other stores. Join the store network and compare your store with other stores every week. Off by default; before you join you see exactly what the module will send. The combined numbers are public on the AI agent pulse page.
  • Light on your server. For an ordinary shopper the module only compares the browser's name with a list of AI agents: no database write and no outside request. A visit from an AI agent adds one small daily counter. The weekly check runs in a request of its own: once a week a page view starts it with a short call to your own store, or a cron job or your visit to the module screen does.

Your data stays in your store

  • Until you join the store network, the module sends nothing to CanItBuy or anyone else.
  • If you join, it sends last week's totals once a week with a random id instead of your store address: no visitor or customer data, product names, prices, order amounts or message text. Leaving the network deletes everything your store sent.
  • If you turn on the signature check, your server downloads the public key of an agent that signed its request, at most once a day per agent. No store data is sent. Off by default.
  • It counts only agents and crawlers that identify themselves, per day, without IP addresses. Ordinary customers are never recorded.
  • For shopping agents it keeps a short journey: the agent, the time, the stage (cart, checkout, order), the cart value, the last page and the store's message, with e-mail addresses and long numbers masked. No IP addresses, no customer data, no cookie of its own. Journeys are deleted after 180 days.
  • Store checks, and the short call that starts the weekly check, are requests from your server to your own store.
  • Uninstalling the module removes its tables and settings.

Install

  1. Download the ZIP file from this page.
  2. In your back office go to Modules > Module Manager, click "Upload a module" and choose the file.
  3. Click "Configure", or open Modules > CanItBuy Agent Ready.
  4. Click "Check the catalog", then "Check the store". If the check shows missing product data, turn on "Add product data" in Settings; turn on /llms.txt there too.
  5. Optional: add the cron address from Settings to a weekly cron job on your server.

What it will not do

  • It cannot recognise agents that run in a normal browser and do not identify themselves, such as Claude in Chrome or Comet. They look like people.
  • It cannot count pages served from a full-page cache without PrestaShop. Cart and checkout are not cached, so buying attempts are counted.
  • It cannot see what a firewall or CDN (for example Cloudflare) does to real agents. A test on canitbuy.com shows that.
  • Visits are declared: anyone can pretend to be another bot. The exception is visits whose signature the module confirmed.
  • It does not update itself yet. Download new versions from this page.

Watch a real agent shop in your store

The module measures your store from the inside. A test on canitbuy.com sends a real AI agent through your purchase path, records it, and stops before payment. Paid plans repeat the test every week and alert you when the result gets worse.
